RESUMEN

With the widespread use of mobile phones, laptops, and WIFI, the effects of radio frequency radiation (RFR) on human health are of increasing concern, and there are particular concerns about its reproductive toxicity. Studies have shown that the reproductive system is a sensitive target for RFR. In males, RFR is associated with decreased sperm quality and serum testosterone levels, but there are few studies on the biological effects of RFR by altering physical parameters on the male reproductive system. This paper introduced common sources of RFR, reviewed the toxic effects and mechanisms of RFR targeting male reproductive system from the aspects of spermatogenic cells, sperm structure, blood-testicular barrier, and testicular function, and analyzed male reproductive system related toxic effects of RFR by varying physical parameters including frequency, treatment duration, and specific absorption rate, so as to provide a theoretical basis and scientific basis for the safe and reasonable use of radio frequency electromagnetic field by humans and subsequent in-depth research.

RESUMEN

Objective:To determine the molecular characteristics of Streptococcus suis type 2 (SS2) in Zhejiang Province. Methods:Twenty-nine SS2 sporadic human isolates in Zhejiang Province from Januery 2005 to July 2021 were genotyped by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), multilocus sequence typing (MLST), and minimum core genome (MCG) sequence typing. Results:Among 29 strains, 10 PFGE patterns and three main clusters were obtained by PFGE. Twenty-one (72.41%) of the strains were divided into two main branch groups and the remaining eight (27.59%) showed genetic diversity with the similarity ranging from 49.7% to 94.7%. Three sequence types were obtained from 29 strains by MLST, including ST7 (86.21%(25/29)), ST1 (10.34%(3/29)) and ST25 (3.45%(1/29)). In addition, three genotypes were obtained from 29 strains by MCG, including genotype E (41.38%(12/29)), genotype group 1 (55.17%(16/29)) and genotype group 4 (3.45%(1/29)).Conclusions:Two large clonal groups of highly pathogenic strains of SS2 have been prevalent in Zhejiang Province. A few strains display genetic diversity, indicating genetic variation may exist during transmission.

RESUMEN

Objective@# To establish real-time recombinase polymerase amplification(RPA)for the rapid detection of Vibrio parahaemolyticus(VP).@*Methods@#An exo probe and primers were designed according to the conserved sequence of thermolabile hemolysin(tlh)gene of VP and then RPA for detection of VP was established. The sensitivity of the assay was evaluated by detecting different concentration of VP;the specificity was evaluated by detecting different bacteria;the stability was evaluated by repeat trials;the application effect was evaluated by detecting food samples which were simultaneously tested with traditional culture method according to GB 4798.7-2013 Detection of VP.@*Results@#A real-time RPA was established to complete VP amplification within 20 min at a constant temperature of 39 ℃. The analytical sensitivity of the assay was five pg per reaction and no cross-reactivity with other pathogenic bacteria observed. The RPA detection results with different concentration of VP and E. coli DNA templates at three time points were consistent. The detection results of 51 food samples by RPA were the same as those by traditional culture method.@*Conclusion@#The established real-time RPA can qualitatively detect VP,with simple operation and interpretation of results, which is suitable for rapid detection of VP in public health emergencies and food safety supervision.

RESUMEN

Thunb. is a traditional herb used for clearing heat and eliminating toxins, and has also been used for the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). the crude polysaccharides (CHCP) exhibited potent anti-complementary activity through both the classical and alternative pathways by acting on components C3 and C4 of the complement system without interfering with the coagulation system. This study was to investigate the preventive effects of CHCP on acute lung injury (ALI) induced by hemorrhagic shock plus lipopolysaccharide (LPS) instillation (two-hit) and LPS-induced fever in rats. CHCP significantly attenuated pulmonary injury in the "two-hit" ALI model by reducing pulmonary edema and protein exudation in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). In addition, it reduced the deposit of complement activation products in the lung and improved oxidant-antioxidant imbalance. Moreover, CHCP administration inhibited fever in rats, reduced the number of leukocytes and restored serum complement levels. The inhibition on the inappropriate activation of complement system by CHCP may play an important role in its beneficial effects on inflammatory diseases. The anti-complementary polysaccharides are likely to be among the key substances for the heat-clearing function of .

RESUMEN

Traditionally, determination of inhibitory potency of complement inhibitors is performed by the hemolytic assay. However, this assay is not applicable to the lectin pathway, thus impeding the understanding of complement inhibitors against the overall function of the complement system. The main objective of our study was to develop a specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) as an alternative method to assess the anti-complement activity, particularly against the lectin pathway. By using respective coating substrates against different activation pathways, followed by capturing the stable C3c fragments, our ELISA method can be used to screen complement inhibitors against the classical pathway and the lectin pathway. The inhibitory effect of suramin on the classical pathway, as measured by our hemolytic assay is consistent with previous reports. Further assessment of suramin and Bupleurum polysaccharides against the lectin pathway showed a good reproducibility of the method. Comparison of the lectin pathway IC50 between Bupleurum smithii var. parvifolium polysaccharides (1.055 mg/mL) and Bupleurum chinense polysaccharides (0.98 mg/mL) showed that, similar to the classical and alterative pathway, these two Bupleurum polysaccharides had comparable anti-complementary properties against the lectin pathway. The results demonstrate that the described ELISA assay can compensate for the shortcomings of the hemolytic assay in lectin pathway.

RESUMEN

Matteuccia struthiopteris is a nature plant, which contains a lot of potential active components. In the present study, we investigated the effect of polysaccharides extracted from Matteuccia struthiopteris on lupus-like syndrome induced by Campylobacter jejuni CJ-S131 in BALB/c mice. Mice were randomly divided into normal, model control, SLE model (vehicle treated), Matteuccia struthiopteris polysaccharides treated (30 and 15 mg x kg(-1)) groups and prednisone 5 mg x kg(-1) treated groups. The effect of Matteuccia struthiopteris polysaccharides (Ms) on weight and organ index of BALB/c mice was detected. Autoantibodies and total IgG production were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Proteinuria was measured and kidneys were examined by light microscopy. Compared with SLE model group, treatment with Matteuccia struthiopteris polysaccharides 30 and 15 mg x kg(-1) reduced weight loss and Matteuccia struthiopteris polysaccharides 15 mg x kg(-1) reduced spleen swelling (P < 0.05). The increased production of autoantibodies and total immunoglobulin G (IgG) were also significantly inhibited. Matteuccia struthiopteris polysaccharides protected kidney against glomerular injury in BALB/c mice with reduced immunoglobulin deposition and lowered proteinuria (P < 0.01). Matteuccia struthiopteris polysaccharides had a protective effect on lupus-like syndrome induced by CJ-S131 in BALB/c mice.

RESUMEN

AIM: To study the effect of CVB-D on contraction of guinea pig Oddi's sphincter in vitro. METHODS: Within the range from 1?10 -7 M to 3?10 -6 M, CVB-D's effects on the smooth muscle under the following conditions were observed: 1) the two phases of the Oddi's sphincter contractive curve caused by 80 mM K+ and 5?10 -6 M Ach; 2)together with verapamil, the contraction of Oddi's sphincter induced by 80 mM K+ and 5?10 -6 M Ach respectively. RESULTS: The relation between the amount of CVB-D and rapid contraction of desived inihibitory response was possessed of a dose-effect one, as well as ratio of plateau and peak of contractions, and slightly elevated contraction in continuous phase. CVB-D kept rapid phase peak value and plateau/peak value decreased markedly that expressed a dose-effect relationship. Contrary to CVB-D. Ach caused rapid, continuous phase and plateau/peak value to fall according as CVB-D decreased. Combination of verapamin and CVB-D led rapid phase peak value induced by KCl to lessen, but do not influence verapamin plateau used only and vanish plateau of rapid phase induced by Ach. CONCLUSION: CVB-D's effects on the contraction of Oddi's sphincter are related to the agonists and contractive phases, which reflect its effects on Ca 2+ channels.

RESUMEN

Objective: To evaluate the pharmacodynamic of clematis. Methods: 1) The relaxation of isolated ileum muscle of guinea pig by clematic was tested. The antagonism of clematis on histamine or Ach induced ileum muscle contraction was tested also. 2) By using the model of turning of trunk, the pain releasing effect of clematis was evaluated. 3) The experiments about anti-inflammation action of clematis were carried out in two models. Results: Clematis relaxed the ileum muscle. It also antagonized the contraction of the muscle caused by histamine and Ach. A single intrapeditional administration of clematis to Kun-Ming mice significantly prolonged the latency and reduced the writhe number at the turning of trunk model; clematis dose-dependently inhibited the mouse ear swelling caused by xylol. It also had anti-inflammation effect at the other model. The results demonstrated that clematis could release the pain, suppress the inflammation and smooth muscle contraction.
